Biography
Scarred is a Metal band from Luxembourg founded in 2000 by four high school buddies initially calling themselves “Requiem”. After a few gigs and the early struggles of every garage band, like changes in line-up and band name and the search for a musical identity, the finally cohesive group (Alexandre Sieradzki, Diogo Bastos, Jeff Jonas, Laurent Kessel) went to record their first 5-track CD in Brussels during summer 2003.
“Inner Scars” (self-produced) was released in February 2004; but the promotion of the record cut short as Alex unfortunately quit for personal matters, shortly after Bertrand Pinna had joined the band as the second guitar player they had been searching for.
The now four-piece, in pursuit of a front man, continued to write new songs while trying out various singers for almost a year. Sacha Breuer turned out to be the perfect match and joined the band in summer 2007, only a few months before the recording of their first full-length album, called “New Filth Order”, at Tidal Wave Studio (Karlsruhe, Germany).
During the recording and production process, Scarred kept doing what they like the most: playing gigs, in- and outside of Luxembourg, supporting bands like Devildriver, Burnt by the Sun, Hatesphere, Devian, Melechesh, Sybreed, Emeth, In-Quest and many others. During summer 2009, Scarred got selected to perform on the Metalcamp festival in Slovenia and represented Luxembourg in the Metalbattle finals at the Wacken Open Air festival where they ended on second place.
